Terms of use
[DRAFT — pending legal review] · Last updated 12 June 2026
1. What Chasseur is
Chasseur is a private car-sourcing service. Buyers post the exact vehicle they are looking for; vetted, independent finders search for it; Chasseur reviews every submission and arranges the introduction between buyer and seller. Chasseur is an intermediary — we are not a dealer, we do not own the vehicles presented, and we are not a party to the sale itself.
2. Posting a search (buyers)
Anyone may post a search. By posting, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, that you are genuinely in the market for the vehicle described, and that you are at least 18 years old. Every post is reviewed by a Chasseur specialist before it goes live; we may decline or remove a post at our discretion, for example where it appears fraudulent, unrealistic, or unlawful.
Posting is free. A search becomes Verified only once you sign the search mandate and pay the refundable deposit described in it. The mandate — including the finder's fee, exclusivity term, deposit, and refund conditions — is presented to you in full before you commit to anything. Nothing is owed for posting alone.
3. The fee and the deposit
The finder's fee is the percentage of your stated budget that you choose when posting. It is earned on introduction: if you acquire a vehicle that Chasseur introduced to you — on or off the platform — the fee is owed, as set out in your signed mandate. The deposit secures the fee, is credited against it on completion, and is refundable in full if no conforming vehicle is presented within the mandate term. Before any introduction is made, the balance of the fee is secured with Chasseur: it is released to the finder only on a completed purchase, and returned to you if the sale does not complete. The mandate you sign is the authoritative text; see also our fee schedule.
4. Finders
Finders join by invitation or by application and act as independent professionals, not employees or agents of Chasseur. By submitting a vehicle, a finder confirms the car exists, that the photos and details are truthful and current, and that they are entitled to present it. Submissions are reviewed by Chasseur before any buyer sees them. Attempting to bypass Chasseur to deal directly with a buyer sourced through the platform is grounds for immediate removal and forfeiture of any pending payout.
5. Introductions and the sale
Chasseur arranges the introduction between buyer and seller and logs it with a timestamp. The purchase itself — price negotiation, inspection, payment for the vehicle, and transfer of ownership — is concluded directly between buyer and seller. Chasseur does not hold vehicle purchase funds and gives no warranty as to the condition, history, or title of any vehicle. We encourage independent inspection before any purchase.
Non-circumvention. The introduction is the service. Both sides agree not to go around it: a buyer may not deal with a seller or finder introduced through Chasseur other than through Chasseur, and a finder may not deal directly with a buyer sourced through the platform — in each case for the duration of the mandate and its tail period. A purchase concluded in breach of this clause leaves the full finder's fee owed by the buyer; for finders it additionally means immediate removal from the network and forfeiture of any pending payout.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to post false searches or false submissions, harvest contact details, circumvent the introduction process, upload content you have no right to share, or use the platform for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
7. Liability
Chasseur provides the platform with reasonable skill and care, but to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for the conduct of buyers, sellers, or finders, nor for the condition of any vehicle. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
8. Your data
How we collect and use personal data is described in our privacy policy.
9. Changes, law, and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to account holders by email. These terms are governed by French law, and disputes belong to the competent courts of the operator's registered office, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
